A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus,
begging to be healed.
“If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said.
Moved with compassion,
Jesus reached out and touched him.
“I am willing,” he said, “Be healed!”
Mark 1:40-41
Jesus came and told his disciples,
“I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father
and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands
I have given you.
And be sure of this:
I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus shouted out again,
and he released his spirit.
At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple
was torn in two, from top to bottom.
The earth shook, rocks split apart,
and tombs opened.
The bodies of many godly men and women who had died
were raised from the dead.
Matthew 27:50-52
…the high priest said to him,
“I demand in the name of the living God—
tell us if you are the Messiah,
the Son of God.”
Jesus replied,
“You have said it.
And in the future you will see the Son of God
seated in the place of power at God’s right hand
and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Matthew 26:63-64
…keep watch!
For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
Understand this:
If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming,
he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into.
You also must be ready all the time,
for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
Matthew 24:42-44
…he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet,
and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world—
from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.
Now learn a lesson from the fig tree.
When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout,
you know that summer is near.
In the same way, when you see all these things,
you can know his return is very near, right at the door.
Matthew 24:31-33
