By his divine power,
God has given us everything we need
for living a godly life…
In view of all this,
make every effort to respond to God’s promises.
Supplement your faith
with a generous provision
of moral excellence
…with patient endurance
…with brotherly affection
…with love for everyone.
2 Peter 1:3, 5-7
Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you.
Watch over it willingly,
not for what you will get out of it,
but because you are eager to serve God.
And when the Great Shepherd appears,
you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.
1 Peter 5:2, 4
…keep on doing what is right,
and trust your lives to the God who created you,
for he will never fail you.
1 Peter 4:19
If you are insulted
because you bear the name of Christ,
you will be blessed,
for the glorious Spirit of God
rests upon you.
1 Peter 4:14
Make allowance for each other’s faults,
and forgive anyone who offends you.
the Lord forgave you,
so you must forgive others.
Devote yourselves to prayer
with an alert mind and a thankful heart.
Live wisely among those who are not believers,
and make the most of every opportunity.
Colossians 4:2, 5
May you be filled with joy,
always thanking the Father.
He has enabled you to share in the inheritance
that belongs to his people,
who live in the light.
For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness
and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,
who purchased our freedom
and forgave our sins.
But we are citizens of heaven,
where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.
And we are eagerly waiting for him to return
as our Savior.
He will take our weak mortal bodies
and change them into glorious bodies like his own,
using the same power
which which he will bring everything under his control.
This is the day the LORD has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
shall not perish,
but have eternal life.
