“What do you want me to do for you?”

“Go, for your faith has healed you.”

And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world

He said this because there were so many people coming and going

that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat.

Then he asked them,

“Why are you afraid?

Do you still have no faith?”

The disciples were absolutely terrified.

“Who is this man?”

they asked each other.

“Even the wind and waves obey him!”

Mark 4:39-41

Then Jesus asked them,

“Would anyone light a lamp

and then put it under a basket or under a bed?

Of course not!

A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine.

For everything that is hidden

will eventually be be brought into the open,

and every secret will be brought to light.

“Why does he eat with such scum?”

When Jesus heard this, he told them,

“Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do.

I have come to call not those who think they are righteous,

but those who know they are sinners.”
