…this world is not our permanent home,
we are looking forward to a home yet to come.
Therefore, let us offer through Jesus
a continual sacrifice of praise to God,
proclaiming our allegiance to his name.
And don’t forget to do good
and to share with those in need.
These are the sacrifices that please God.
Jesus Christ is the same
yesterday, today, and forever.
So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas…

…God has said,
“I will never fail you.
I will never abandon you.”
So we can say with confidence,
“The LORD is my helper,
so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?”

Work at living in peace with everyone,
and work at living a holy life,
for those who are not holy
will not see the Lord.
Be careful that you do not refuse to listen
to the One who is speaking…
we certainly will not escape
if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses,
let us throw off everything that hinders
and the sin that so easily entangles.
And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us
It was by faith
that Moses left the land of Egypt,
not fearing the king’s anger.
He kept right on going
because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.

It was by faith that Noah built a large boat
to save his family from the flood.
He obeyed God,
who warned him about things that had never happened before.
…and he received the righteousness
that comes by faith.
…it is impossible to please God without faith.
Anyone who wants to come to him
must believe that God exists
and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
By faith we understand that the entire universe
was formed at God’s command,
that what we now see did not come from anything
that can be seen.
