Be on guard. 

Stand firm in the faith. 

Be courageous.

Be strong. 

And do everything with love. 

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

He gives us victory over sin and death 

through our Lord Jesus Christ. 

So…

be strong and immovable. 

Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, 

for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

1 Corinthians 15:57-58

But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. 

We will not all die, 

but we will all be transformed! 

It will happen in a moment, 

in the blink of an eye, 

when the last trumpet is blown. 

For when the trumpet sounds, 

those who have died will be raised to live forever. 

And we who are living will also be transformed.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52

Now we see things imperfectly, 

like puzzling reflections in a mirror, 

but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.

All that I know now is partial and incomplete, 

but then I will know everything completely, 

just as God now knows me completely.

I reflect at night on who you are, 

O Lord…

I rise at midnight to thank you…

You have done many good things for me, 

Lord,
    
just as you promised.

I believe in your commands;
    
now teach me good judgment and knowledge.

Love is patient and kind. 

Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. 

It does not demand its own way. 

It is not irritable…

A spiritual gift is given to each of us 

so we can help each other. 

…the ability to give wise advice 

…a message of special knowledge

…great faith 

…the gift of healing

…the power to perform miracles 

…the ability to prophesy 

…the ability to discern whether a message 

is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit.

…the ability to speak in unknown languages

…the ability to interpret what is being said. 

It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. 

He alone decides which gift each person should have.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11

If you think you are standing strong, 

be careful not to fall. 

The temptations in your life are no different 

from what others experience. 

And God is faithful. 

He will not allow the temptation to be more 

than you can stand. 

When you are tempted, 

he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

1 Corinthians 10:10

There is one God, 

the Father,
    
by whom all things were created,
    
and for whom we live.

And there is one Lord, 

Jesus Christ,
    
through whom all things were created,
    
and through whom we live.

1 Corinthians 8:6

Anyone who claims to know all the answers 

doesn’t really know very much. 

But the person who loves God 

is the one whom God recognizes.
