Blessings Of Holding Firmly To What We Believe

…since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven,
Jesus the Son of God,
let us hold firmly to what we believe.
This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses,
for he faced all of the same testings we do,
yet he did not sin.
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God.
There we will receive his mercy,
and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
Hebrews 4:14-16

Blessings of Believing the Word of God

…the word of God is living and powerful,

and sharper than any two-edged sword,

piercing even to the division of soul and spirit,

and of joints and marrow,

and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight,

but all things are naked and open

to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Blessings of No Fear of Dying

Because God’s children are human beings—

made of flesh and blood—

the Son also became flesh and blood.

For only as a human being could he die,

and only by dying

could he break the power of the devil,

who had the power of death.

Only in this way could he set free

all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.

Hebrews 2:14-15

Blessings of Jesus’ Solid Reality

He also says to the Son,

“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth

and made the heavens with your hands.

They will perish, but you remain forever.

They will wear out like old clothing.

You will fold them up like a cloak

and discard them like old clothing.

But you are always the same;

you will live forever.”

Hebrews 1:10-12

Blessings of the Joy Giver

…when he brought his supreme Son into the world,

 God said,

“Let all of God’s angels worship him.”

Regarding the angels, he says,

“He sent his angels like the winds,

his servants like flames of fire.”

But to the Son he says,

“Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever.

You rule with a scepter of justice.

You love justice and hate evil.

Therefore, O God, your God has anointed you,

pouring out the oil of joy on you more than on anyone else.”

Hebrews 1:6-9
