“Who are you?”
they demanded.
Jesus replied,
“The one I have always claimed to be.”
“When you have lifted up the Son of Man on the cross,
then you will understand that I AM he.
I do nothing on my own
but say only what the Father taught me.”

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said,
“I am the light of the world.
If you follow me,
you won’t have to walk in darkness,
because you will have the light that leads to life.”

“…those the Father has given me will come to me,
and I will never reject them.
For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son
and believe in him
should have eternal life.
I will raise them up at the last day.”

But to all who believed him and accepted him,
he gave the right to become children of God.
They are reborn—
not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan,
but a birth that comes from God.

“Learn a lesson from this unjust judge.
Even he rendered a just decision in the end.
So don’t you think God will surely give justice
to his chosen people
who cry out to him day and night?
Will he keep putting them off?

he will grant justice to them quickly!

The apostles said to the Lord,
“Show us how to increase our faith.”
The Lord answered,
“If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed,
you could say to this mulberry tree,
‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’
and it would obey you!”

When he finally came to his senses…
…he returned home to his father.
And while he was still a long way off,
his father saw him coiming.
Filled with love and compassion,
he ran to his son,
embraced him,
and kissed him.
…his father said…
We must celebrate…
for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life.
He was lost,
but now he is found.
So the party began.
