“But the tax collector stood at a distance
and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed.
Instead,
he beat his chest in sorrow,
saying,
‘O God, be merciful to me,
for I am a sinner.’
I tell you,
this sinner,
not the Pharisee,
returned home justified before God.
For those who exalt themselves will be humbled,
and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

he will grant justice to them quickly!

When Jesus saw her,
he called her over and said,
“Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!”
Then he touched her,
and instantly she could stand straight.
How she praised God!

Blessings of The One Who Conquered Death
The young man who had died was a widow’s only son,
and a large crowd from the village was with her.
When the Lord saw her,
his heart overflowed with compassion.
“Don’t cry!”
he said.
Then he walked over to the coffin and touched it,
and the bearers stopped.
“Young man,”
he said,
“I tell you,
get up.”
Then the dead boy sat up and began to talk!

Blessings of Sharing The Good News
Early the next morning
Jesus went out to an isolated place.
The crowds searched everywhere for him,
and when they finally found him,
they begged him not to leave them.
But he replied,
“I must preach the Good News
of the Kingdom of God in other towns,
too,
because that is why I was sent.”
