“…the LORD of Heaven’s Armies
will come down and fight on Mount Zion.
The LORD of Heaven’s Armies will hover over Jerusalem
and protect it like a bird protecting its nest.
He will defend and save the city;
he will pass over it and rescue it.”
This is what the Sovereign LORD,
the Holy One of Israel,
says,
“Only in returning to me
and resting in me
will you be saved.
In quietness and confidence is your strength.”
So the LORD must wait for you to come to him
so he can show you his love and compassion.
For the LORD is a faithful God.
Blessed are those who wait for his help.
…he will still be with you to teach you.
You will see your teacher with your own eyes.
Your own ears will hear him.
Right behind you a voice will say,
“This is the way you should go,”
whether to the right or to the left.
…God is light,
and in him is no darkness at all.
…if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus his Son
cleanses us from all sin.
Jesus looked at them and said,
“Then what does this Scripture mean?
‘The stone that the builders rejected
has now become the cornerstone.’
Everyone who stumbles over that stone
will be broken to pieces,
and it will crush anyone it falls on.”

So when all these things begin to happen,
stand and look up,
for your salvation is near!”

and there will be terrifying things
and great miraculous signs from heaven.
But before all this occurs,
there will be a time of great persecution…
And when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies,
then you will know
that the time of its destruction has arrived.”
