Jesus answered them,
“Healthy people don’t need a doctor—

I have come to call
not those who think they are righteous,
but those who know they are sinners
and need to repent.”

“You are blessed because you believed
that the Lord would do what he said.”
“Oh,
how my soul praises the Lord.
How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!”

But Jesus was silent and made no reply.
Then the high priest asked him,

And you will see the Son of Man
seated in the place of power at God’s right hand

“…keep watch!
For you don’t know
when the master of the household will return—
in the evening,
at midnight,
before dawn,
or at day break.
Don’t let him find you sleeping

I say to you what I say to everyone:
Watch for him!”
“Praise God!

The sound of his coming was like the roar
of rushing waters,
and the whole landscape shone with his glory.
And the glory of the LORD
came into the Temple through the east gateway.
…and the glory of the LORD filled the Temple.
The LORD said to me,
“Son of man,
this is the place of my throne
and the place where I will rest my feet.
I will live here forever among the people of Israel.”
“Why are you arguing about having no bread?
Don’t you know or understand even yet?
Are your hearts too hard to take it in?
‘You have eyes—can’t you see?
You have ears—can’t you hear?’
Don’t you remember anything at all?”

They were all terrified when they saw him.
But Jesus spoke to them at once.
“Don’t be afraid,”
he said.
“Take courage!
I am here!
Then he climbed into the boat,
and the wind stopped.
They were totally amazed,
for they still didn’t understand the significance
of the miracle of the loaves.
Their hearts were too hard to take it in.
