“Yes, Lord,” she told him.
“I have always believed you are the Messiah,
the Son of God,
the one who has come into the world from God.”

“I am the good shepherd;
I know my own sheep,
and they know me,
just as my Father knows me and I know the Father.
So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.
I have other sheep, too,
that are not in this sheepfold.
I must bring them also.
They will listen to my voice,
and there will be one flock with one shepherd.”
He has come from above and is greater than anyone else.
We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things,
but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else.
He testifies about what he has seen and heard,
but how few believe what he tells them!
…he is sent by God.
He speaks God’s words,
for God gives him the Spirit without limit.
…Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son
will never experience eternal life
but remains under God’s angry judgment.
