LORD, there is no one like you!
For you are great, and your name is full of power.
I also noticed that under the sun
there is evil in the courtroom.
Yes, even the courts of law are corrupt!
I said to myself,
“In due season God will judge everyone,
both good and bad, for all their deeds.”
For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
A time to kill and a time to heal.
a time to tear down and a time to build up.
A time to cry and a time to laugh.
A time to grieve and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
A time to search and a time to quit searching.
A time to keep and a time to throw away.
A time to tear and a time to mend.
A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
A time to love and a time to hate.
A time for war and a time for peace.
Nothing under the sun is truly new.
Sometimes people say, “Here is something new!”
But actually it is old, nothing is ever truly new.
We don’t remember what happened in the past,
and in future generations,
no one will remember what we are doing now.
Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down?
Who holds the wind in his fists?
Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak?
Who has created the whole wide world?
What is his name—and his son’s name?
Tell me if you know!
Every word of God proves true
He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
The LORD says,
“I was ready to respond, but no one asked for help.
I was ready to be found, but no one was looking for me.
I said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’
to a nation that did not call on my name.
…when you believed in Christ,
he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit,
whom he promised long ago.
The Spirit is God’s guarantee
that he will give us the inheritance he promised
and that he has purchased us to be his own people.
He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
Blessings of God’s guarantee
Let all that I am praise the LORD;
with my whole heart I will praise his holy name.
Let all that I am praise the LORD;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.
He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.
He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.
(1—in list of Scripture memory work)
…O LORD, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand.
For since the world began,
no ear has heard
and no eye has seen a God like you,
who works for those who wait for him!
