The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure

that a man discovered hidden in a field.

In his excitement,

he hid it again and sold everything he owned

to get enough money to buy the field.

Matthew 13:44

The seed that fell on good soil

represents those who truly hear

and understand God’s word

and produce a harvest

of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times

as much as had been planted!”

Matthew 13:23

To those who listen to my teaching,

more understanding will be given,

and they will have an abundance of knowledge.

But for those who are not listening,

even what little understanding they have

will be taken away from them.

“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth,

I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

But everyone who denies me here on earth,

I will also deny before my Father in heaven.

Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body;

they cannot touch your soul.

Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
