Beeing Together

My bees arrived unannounced last Saturday afternoon.

Evidently the overnight rainstorm encouraged them to rearrange themselves.

101_3564

Austin is wondering exactly how Uncle Bubba talked him into this.

101_3565

A girl in polka-dot farm boots called to say, “Mama Jan, we’re coming to catch those bees”.

101_3567

A little sugar water is supposed to make bees happy.

101_3568

6:30 is pretty early for bee catching.

101_3572

Austin had never fancied himself as a bee catcher.

101_3575

Slow is good.

101_3577

Camera man ready.

101_3578

Sugar cookies are good when you’re catching bees.

101_3579

Okay. Okay. Okay.

101_3580

Here comes a scary part.

101_3581

Clipping off the little branches.

101_3585

Considering the big branch.

101_3587

Still considering.

101_3589

Done considering!

101_3593

Somebody’s gotta do this.

101_3594

GO AUSTIN! Put those bees in the box!

101_3599

See Austin run. Austin runs fast. Go Austin go.

101_3600

Some bee catchers listen to Joe Scruggs CD’s while they wait for honey.

101_3604

Now then…

101_3606

So…

101_3608

Austin is being ex*em*pla*ry (ig-zem’pl.-re)

101_3610

Bee box filled.

101_3615

Gotta find our queen.

101_3618

Austin’s choosing a different career.

101_3620

Helping those little critters into their new home.

101_3621

Noisy. Noisy. Noisy.

101_3629

Queenie?  Where are you?

101_3633

Her Majesty, the Queen Bee.

101_3635

Scoot em on in there.

101_3641

Mama Jan loves honey.

101_3648

Sweet little honey bee crawling on my neck.

101_3651

The end of our beeing morning. And all of God’s creatures are special.
